The Amsterdam IamExpat fair is a favourite with foreigners living and working in the Netherlands as well as for new arrivals looking to find new homes and jobs in the popular city.

The annual fair hosts anything and everything for established and incoming expat needs, including jobs accommodation, help desks, immigration information, mortgages, career advancement and ongoing study opportunities. This year’s mega-event is being held in Amsterdam’s Gashouder, a former massive gas storage tank converted into an edgy, multifunctional event hub located in popular Westerpark. It’s now a major cultural venue hosting festivals, events and fairs.

Since its launch, the IamExpat fair has become a firm annual favourite with established expats, newcomers, recruiters, expat advisors and diverse companies working with or for expatriates. Due on April 6th, the eighth run of this ever popular event is scheduled to be the best yet, with its organisers hoping it will break all its impressive records to date. Since the first event, the fair has run 132 expat workshops, hosted 260 companies and welcomed over 18,000 visitors from 150 world countries, earning it the reputation of being Amsterdam’s most successful internationally-aimed event.

For the practicalities of expat life in the Netherlands, there will be dozens of stands manned by expat-friendly firms specialising in careers, education, leisure, health, housing, family needs and expat services in general. Networking, informative workshops, presentations and the chance to meet like-minded expat professionals are all on offer for free in the new venue. Also, there will be lifestyle organisations, expats’ needs businesses, actively-hiring recruiters and companies as well as a Kids' Area for those who arrived in the Netherlands en famille.
