The 17th Amsterdam Expat Fair for Internationals is due on October 6th, and is expected to be the best ever.
The fair is a must-visit for all expats in the Netherlands as well as for those planning to arrive, and has grown in popularity as the country’s expat population has continued to increase. This year’s event will concentrate on expat essentials aimed at those who’re considering settling in the Netherlands, those who’ve recently arrived and long-stayers who’ve made the country their home. The focus is on three themes – Houses for Expats, Jobs for Expats and Education for Expats, thus covering all incomers from students to job-seekers and those looking to put down permanent roots.
Informative workshops and presentations will take place all day, giving information on everything from finding a new job through banking, taxes, housing, clubs, entertainment, education and much more. For job-seekers of all types as well as entrepreneurs, digital nomads and international expat professionals, presentations by experts, employers and recruiters across a range of industries will answer expats’ questions about living and working in the country. Nowadays, finding a home in the Netherlands can be tricky for newcomers, with specialist advice given on property laws, tenants’ rights and the Dutch housing market especially relevant for recent expat arrivals.
Also represented will be relocation specialists, estate agents, lawyers and mortgage advisors, all helping expats feel at home in their new country of residence. Also in attendance will be representatives from the Netherlands’ top universities, international schools, bilingual education specialists and even Montessori-based schools. For expats who’re well settled in and are interested in volunteering, various charities will be in attendance, and the cultural and social side of expat life will be well represented by clubs and other organisations as well as representatives from local entertainment hotspots. All in all, this annual fair offers everything expats need to make the best of their time living, working, studying or simply enjoying life in this unique country.
