In today’s day and age, there is a lot to be stressed about. Everything from work, taxes, bills and now, we have the added stress of the coronavirus, lockdowns and social distancing. It can get all too much sometimes and it’s understandable if you need some time to de-stress and relax.

Stressed? Try cuddling cows!

Everyone likes to unwind in their own way, whether it be reading, gaming or swimming, everyone has their own way of de-stressing and relaxing. In the Netherlands, there is a very unusual way of relaxing, and that’s cuddling cows!

Yes, you read that right. In the Netherlands people go out to the fields and cuddle cows. There is a science to it too! It is proven that cuddling helps reduce stress and lower anxiety hormone levels. Furthermore, a cow’s body temperature is slightly higher than ours, which, coupled with a lower heart rate, allows for a very comforting experience.

A worldwide movement
